ABOUT THE TEAM
We are a paintball team located in Limassol, Cyprus.
We have done well on the local speedball tournaments and in recent years we travelled to other European countries in order to compete.
One of our visit was in the UK, attending to the largest and most competitive tournament of the country, the CPPS, which is situated a few miles out of Birmingham.
HISTORY
The team was first conceived in 2007 as a resident team of Paintball-Z arena(which it still is) by three friends,
Christos Ellinas (Active), Savvas Kazakos (Active) and Panayiotis Orphanides (Non-active),
to compete in various recball tournaments in the island of Cyprus, under the name of Burros Locos.
At the time, the team had won many events and the competing spirit started to grow.
After a few talks, the team decided to turn into speedball in search of a more competitive environment.
After a few months, a terrible blow came as one the founding members had to retire due to health issues.
The team then regrouped and with the addition of new players that gave the team a boost.
It was then time for a change and the team got renamed to INFERNO paintball team CYPRUS.
Under the new name, the team competed in many local tournaments and with a roster big enough to participate in three different divisions, winning many events.
Then in 2013 another disaster will bestow the team, The Cypriot Financial Crisis.
The crisis affected many of the players that were young of age and it also affected the paintball scene of Cyprus with many teams folding and tournaments being cancelled.
After some hard times, the team endured and started recruiting new members but the damage done to the Cypriot paintball scene was irreversible.
With no active tournaments, the team decided to start travelling to other European countries in search of competitive tournaments.
First stop, Greece!
Unfortunately the scene in Greece had taken a blow as well and in the last moment the tournaments were cancelled, leaving the team without options.
But one of the founding members was at the time in the UK, guesting for a team in the CPPS,
the largest national tournament of the UK with teams arriving from all the corners of the country.
The team decided to attend an event in 2017 and with a decent performance and good times,
decided to return the next year to compete again in two different divisions.
